Today is my final day of my 5 weeks in CR. It has been a wonderful experience and my last day couldn't have been better. I went to my pharmacy today and the pharmacist let me help alot more with prescriptions. At Spanish class we had pizza, presented our final presentation, have awards, and celebrated my birthday!

Mi reto personal completo y fue un exito!
Today I did my personal challenge. I chose to try a cross fit gym in a close by town. I had attempted this my first weekday with another student. We left empty handed. We accidentally went to San Jose and I ended up getting hurt. So my challenge was to successfully get to the gym and complete a workout. So I woke up at 4 am so I could make it to the bus stop at 5 am and to the gym at 6. Once I got off the correct para autobus Yo tuve que caminar hasta el gimnasio. I should have gotten on the 5:30am bus porque I got to the gym at 5:30am jaja. So for the first class they make you do a trial class. Lets just say they highly encouraged me to do the advanced class because what they had me do looked way to easy for me. The people were so nice and really want me to come back and t more classes before I leave. I'm glad I did this for my challenge!

Sibu en sabado
Today I went to Sibu chocolate. It was a really great tour. It started with some really good hot chocolate even though it's 85 degrees here..lol. Then we sat at the table in front of a plate of chocolate for our taste testing portion of the tour. The owner went through the history of chocolate and how it came to Costa Rica. Within the history he explained to us the different types of chocolate and why they make the flavors they do. It was really interesting and one of the best tours I've been on.

This week's activities
Monday we learned how to salsa like a Costa Rican. Trying to learn all the steps and keep them straight is a bit tricky. It was alot of fun though!
Yesterday we had a cooking class. We made a traditional Costa Rican meal. Arroz con pollo. It actually was really good, but way too much rice. They really like rice here! We made tortillas by hand and it's actually quite easy to do.

Manuel Antonio Weekend
Manuel Antonio is a great place to visit and it's mucho bonito! We went to the beach, hiked, and looked at the wild life! We saw some monkeys, sloths, and crazy raccoons taking away some people's food. It was a hot and awesome weekend....ps don't forget to apply sunscreen every hour...

La Carpia Charles
The charlas went better than I thought they would. It was wonderful to see most of the audience were participating with our activities! Then they did a play for us about how the women of la carpia got here. Great day overall.

Presentation practice
Today was a more difficult day for me unfortunately. My charla partner and I practiced for Thursday's presentation today. Let's say is a bit difficult to do any presentation in a language that you have only been studying for 2 weeks, but even more difficult when medical terms are involved. With lots of practice and hard work we'll rock this presentation!

La Carpio
Today we went to La Carpio which is a town in CR. This town thrives because females from Nicaragua back in the 70's came to this town to start a new life and to make a better life for themselves. These women today still take care of sodas and other little shops in the town. This town is located where all the trash goes for all of Costa Rica. To say the least it's very loud due to all the dump trucks driving through the town. We are presenting our charlas in la carpia next Wednesday. Since it's loud we were told to yell during our presentations. First time I've been told to yell at the audience...ha.
The biggest shock to me visiting this town was to see every female of all ages were pregnant or had children.
